What’s the difference between eyelash extensions and traditional fake lashes?

Traditional fake lashes are in a strip or multiple lashes knotted together and applied onto the eyelid using a hard drying adhesive. They may cause discomfort, feel heavy and look unnatural. They usually last only through the night.

Eyelash extensions are applied with an adhesive that dries soft allowing lashes to stay flexible. Bonding occurs on each individual lash and not on the skin, causing the extensions to last significantly longer and look and feel like your own lashes.

How long does the process take?

Approximately 50-90 minutes.

With proper care, the lashes can last for 6-8 weeks or the length of the natural growth cycle. To maintain fullness touch-ups are recommended every 2-3 weeks to replace any lashes that might have fallen off.

What are the lashes made of?

Lashes are made of a synthetic material, which is soft, naturally curved, flexible and available in various lengths.

How do I care for my lash extensions?

Stay away from water for the first 6 hours after application. Avoid rubbing or scratching eyes in general. Apply creams, lotions, eye makeup removers or cleansers containing oils sparingly and avoid the lash line area because the oils can loosen the bond.

Can I wear mascara?

Yes, Aveda Mosscara is ideal and Pure comfort eye makeup remover is recommended because it is made with an oil-free formula. Do not use waterproof mascara because the product needed to remove it will loosen the bond on the eyelash extensions. If mascara is worn, it should be applied only to the tips of the lashes.
